NASA / Outer-space Night - Band Camp 2019
Are they NASA employees, or the musicians in a Marching Band? It was hard to tell on Wednesday night. Congratulations to the Saxophone Section for your very creative (and winning) entry into Wednesday's Spirit Night Competition!

Out Of This World Lunch
Thank you to the amazing parent-team that provided a back-to-band-camp lunch - for all members of the DGN Trojan Marching Band - that was truly OUT OF THIS WORLD! Special thanks is extended to the Duncan family for organizing, spearheading, and donating much of the food that was consumed by a hungry marching band this afternoon!

Band Camp Reminders for Monday!
We are very excited to welcome the members of the DGN Trojan Marching Band to campus on Monday. As a reminder, Student Leaders, and all NEW students to the marching band report at 8:00 AM (please arrive a few minutes early), and all vets will join us at 12:00 noon for a full-band lunch just outside the football stadium on the west side of the building (provided by the Duncan family).
"Spirit Nights" are an important tradition in our band program, and to help you plan ahead about what you might choose to wear at evening practices this week, here is the schedule:
Monday: Section Colors Night *
Tuesday: Twin or 'Dynamic Duo' Night
Wednesday: NASA / Space Night
Thursday: Section Theme Night (you will decide on a unique theme with members of your section)
Friday: Dress-up your Student Leaders Night
* Flutes (Red), Clarinets (Yellow), Saxophones (Green), Trumpets (Blue), Mellophones (Orange), Low Brass (White), Percussion (Black), Guard (Pink)
New students: in case you were wondering, YES, everyone really does participate in Section Color night. Want proof? HERE are photos from last year!
If you have not already done so, please review Mr. Smith's "Band Camp wikiHow" so that you are prepared for a terrific week! This is an especially great resource for new students and parents! It is tremendously important that every student be dressed for warm temperatures, wear (and re-apply) sunscreen, and wear closed-toe tennis shoes. We strongly recommend that students come with a large water jug (at least 1/2 gallon) as opposed to s small hand-held water bottle. It will really help!
Double check your part assignments HERE! *Some people have been adjusted!* Our goal is have the halftime show memorized by the end of band camp. Do your part and learn your part! Sheet music and recordings can be found HERE.
