Band Camp Tomorrow
We are excited to being work with the 2018-19 DGN Trojan
Marching Band tomorrow, August 6. As a reminder, all NEW students to the band
(+ student leaders) report at 8 AM for our morning practice session. Please
don’t forget to bring a sack lunch that does not require refrigeration!
Returning band members will report at 1:30 PM for a practice that extends to
3:30 PM. We will have a 2.5 hour dinner break, and will then resume for a final
6:00 – 9:00 PM practice.
Purdue Trip Permission Form
The DGN Trojan Marching Band will perform at Purdue
University on Saturday, September 8. Every marching band member/family must
complete THIS PERMISSION FORM no later than Monday, August 13. There is a lot
of important information about the trip, transportation fees, and uniform
included in the online form. Students also have an option to order a
commemorative t-shirt from Purdue. All those details are accessed through the
link. Please read this information carefully. https://tinyurl.com/DGN-PurdueBandDayPermission
Section Color Night – Monday
The Trojan Marching Band will continue our long tradition of
“Spirit Nights” at full band practice during the season. A full list of this
year’s Spirit Night themes may be found HERE. For tomorrow night (Monday,
August 6th, 6 – 9 PM), each member of the band is highly encouraged to wear
clothing (or accessories!) that match the color of their section: Flutes (red),
Clarinets (yellow), Saxophones (green), Trumpets (blue), Mellophones (orange),
Low Brass (white), Percussion (black), Guard (pink). The section with the
highest rate of participation winds a prize, and creativity counts!
