Sports Exemption Project Information Now Available!

No... Summer isn't over yet, but the school year IS just around the corner. In response to student suggestions, we are pleased to be presenting the new and improved Sports Exemption Project 2009! Any student not participating in Marching Band because of participation in a fall sport must complete this project as part of their first quarter band grade.

Among the key changes (get it? KEY CHANGES) for the project this year:
  • An opportunity to get started NOW, while you may have some extra time!
  • An opportunity to choose from three project types!
  • An opportunity to work in a small group or independently (based on the project type selected).
To get more information and to begin working on the project, follow the link to the right in the Site Navigation called Sports Exemption Project Info and Proposal. This will lead you to the Project Proposal form, as well as .pdf documents that outline the project and its options. One document is the full description of all three project options including grading rubrics. The other document is additional information for the third project option. Please make sure you download the appropriate documents!

Students wishing to get a head start on the project just need to fill out the Project Proposal form. Once that is complete, Mr. Teague or Mr. Miller will be in touch with you about how to proceed.

Rain Can't Dampen Spirit of Independence

Congratulations and thank you to the members of the District 99 Summer Marching Band for two great performances in community parades today. Members of the DGN Trojan Marching Band and the DGS Marching Mustangs joined forces for the Darien and Downers Grove Independence Day Parades. Great work everyone!
