DGN Band Course Section Placements: 2013-14

Thank you to all our current (and future!) DGN band students for their work preparing the audition materials for the 2013-14 academic year.  We heard some wonderful auditions from many 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th grade students.  The future is bright for the DGN Bands!  We look forward to making great music with all three concert band classes next year.

Fareed Haque Residency

Fareed Haque continues to 'wow' our students at DGN today as he shares his musicianship with a variety of ensembles, classes, and small groups.

Don't miss tonight's concert!  7 pm in the Clarence Johnson Auditorium.

International Guitar Virtuoso

International guitar virtuoso - Fareed Haque - is on the North High campus today and tomorrow working with students in a variety of music courses.

Professor Haque started bright and early with the Jazz Lab Band at 7:00 am, and since that time he has performed for over 300 students in band and guitar classes.

Later this evening the Jazz Esnemble will work in an extended two-hour rehearsal with Professor Haque in preparation for tomorrow night's 'Sharing Is Caring' Jazz Concert, which is set to be broadcast on High School Cube.

Fareed Haque Tuesday Night!

Guitar virtuoso Fareed Haque (http://fareed.com/) will appear as guest-artist in residence this week at North High, with a culminating concert set for 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 9th.

The 'Sharing Is Caring' Jazz Concert - held in conjunction with Jazz Appreciation Month - annually features the DGN Jazz Ensemble, DGN Jazz Lab Band, and the DGN Percussion Ensemble.

Admission is free; doors open at 6:30 PM.

Out-of-town friends and family can enjoy the concert too!  The concert will be streamed live on High School Cube beginning at 7:00 PM.

Don't miss what is sure to be one of the highlight concerts of the spring season!

2013-14 Marching Band Leadership Team

Thank you to all of the dedicated DGN Band students who auditioned for Leadership Team positions! This years applicant pool was deep, with 45 students completing the audition process.  Thank you to all who expressed an interest in leading our marching band through the gift of time and talents.
