Mr. Teague sends birthday thanks ...

Dear members of the DGN Band:

A very sincere and heartfelt thank-you for all you did to make me feel special on my birthday today.  The warm wishes in the hallway from Concert Band as they left class today, the balloon-bombing of my office, the serenade in Symphonic Band when I dropped the baton for our warm up, and the cool iPad case (and saying) from Wind Ensemble, all helped make this a very memorable birthday.  I'm one of the luckiest people on the planet to have the opportunity to collaborate with each of you.

I better turn in for the night.  It's almost "Beat the Hilltoppers Game Day!"  (What does a Hilltopper do, anyway?) Thanks again!

New Marching Band Teaching Station

This evening, thanks to the generous support of the DGN Music Boosters, the Trojan Marching Band staff was able to attain an appropriate 'press box level' perspective during the teaching of marching band drill formations on the new West Practice Field.  The new teaching station is a very welcome addition to the rehearsal facility as it will allow marching band staff to more accurately and quickly analyze student progress, as well as offer constructive feedback for improvement.

THANK YOU DGN Music Boosters for your amazing and ongoing support of our student musicians!

Jazz Class Lists: 2013-2014

Class rosters for the 2013-14 Jazz Ensemble course may be accessed by clicking here.

Many thanks are extended to each student who expressed an interest in the jazz curriculum and spent time preparing the audition materials.  Students came well-prepared, making it one of the most competitive audition cycles ever.  If you auditioned, were not placed in a jazz class this year, but will be at DGN again next year, we truly hope you will come back out for auditions.

Jazz classes begin tomorrow, Tuesday, September 10th, at 7:00 AM.  See posted list for additional details.

Seniors Honored Under Friday Night Lights

Congratulations to the entire membership of the Trojan Marching Band for a terrific home-opener, as DGN toppled Hinsdale Central by a score of 28-0.

The Trojan Marching Band wowed the crowd with the pageantry of Pre Game and the exciting music of this year's half-time theme: #50007 - The Music of James Bond.

Special congratulations are extended to the Class of 2014 who was honored tonight prior to kick off, as well as all of our newest "Formers" ... who completed their first performance in uniform this evening.

Tomorrow the band is off to Northwestern University to perform for "Chicago's Big Ten Team."
