The 30 member Trojan Marching Band Student Leadership Team spent the day at the Lincoln-Marsh High Ropes and Teams Course. Thank you to this dedicated group of Section Captains and Drum Majors for their fabulous work today!

Tuba Mini Camp

Members of the DGN Trojan Marching Band Sousaphone section have been putting in extra time this summer to get ready for the 2018-19 school year. Thank you to all the students who have been working with Mr. Smith Tuesdays and Thursdays this month, and a SPECIAL thank-you to our new tuba players who are converting from other instruments to help balance our sound this year!

Important Update: Adjusted Band Camp Schedule / Uniform Fitting Appointments

ADJUSTED Band Camp Schedule

Our staff learned recently that both Mr. Smith and Mr. Teague will be required to attend meetings on the morning of August 10. Our original schedule for August 10 included a morning and afternoon rehearsal, with no evening rehearsal. We must adjust our schedule to adapt, and that means students will now have Friday MORNING off (sleep-in!), and we have extended our rehearsal into Friday evening. A PDF of the revised schedule may be found HERE. 

The Fine Arts Department on-line Google Calendar has already been updated to reflect this adjusted schedule. 

Sign Up For Required Uniform Fitting Appointment!

Uniform fitting appointments will take place on Saturday, August 11th. Uniforms are being assembled this summer by amazing parent volunteers, and students must sign-up for a 30 minute window to claim their uniform, and try it on for confirmation. August 11th is the ONLY day we are scheduling appointments. 

Students and Parents/Guardians: Please work together to sign up for a time that will work for you on August 11th. Only 15 students may sign up every 30 minutes; the earlier you register, the better chance you will have of securing a time that is most convenient for your family.

Please be careful not to double-register (i.e. student signs up, and then a parent signs the same student up). Make sure that each student is only registered for one time-slot. When you use Sign-Up Genius, the "First Name" and "Last Name" entered should be that of the band member (not the parent/guardian). 

Color Guard members do NOT need to sign up for a Fitting Appointment on August 11.

Final Reminders / Music You Should Be Practicing, etc

We hope you received our mailing earlier in the summer that contained important reminders about Band Camp, as well as links to print out the Harry Potter music! If you need another copy, it may be found HERE.

If you are NEW to our Marching Band this season, be on the lookout for a letter that has been sent to your house (US Postal Service) from your Section Captain. That letter will include an invitation to a Newcomer Party that is being hosted by our Student Leadership Team at the home of Drum Major Aidan Purcell. That party will be on Saturday, August 4th. Mark your calendars, because it's always a great way to meet your student leaders, as well as all of the other new students in the Marching Band this season!
